This one is no exaggeration.  Ok, maybe a little- but that dog had neon orange boots!!
Also, I have given up trying to use illustrator.

NYC Dog Series #1

I just recently moved to NYC, where I've been finding a lot of dogs live.  I have seen some of the cutest dogs here, some of the ugliest, and a good range in between.  Therefore, I am going to start a series of NYC dogs and owners; documenting some of the strange coupling of man or woman and dog that I've seen.  Also, I'm going to be using the series to practice more on my wacom tablet and to start using Adobe Illustrator.  So here goes!  Bet this dog owner wishes his dog could donate some hair.

Like A Fat Kid Loves Cake

It's been a while since I've posted but not because of lack of activity, more because of lack of time and energy. So in order to get myself back on track I'm hoping to post a picture a day (it keeps the doctor away!). I obsessively doodle anyways, and figured why not share my sketchies with the world! I'd be happy to take requests, too, if you have a picture, word or phrase you'd like to see up on the blog! Leave a comment or shoot me a mention on twitter @emilytomasik .

This is the first of my picture a day posts, I titled it Like A Fat Kid Loves Cake. It's colored in photoshop and hand drawn by my hands. Give me feedback!

There Was a Little Girl...

This is an illustration I did a few years ago based off the poem There Was a Little Girl. I used pen and watercolor pencils.

It goes:

There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good
She was very, very good
And when she was bad
She was horrid.

I'm not sure what the message behind the poem is, but it was read to me all the time when I was younger.
