There Was a Little Girl...

This is an illustration I did a few years ago based off the poem There Was a Little Girl. I used pen and watercolor pencils.

It goes:

There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good
She was very, very good
And when she was bad
She was horrid.

I'm not sure what the message behind the poem is, but it was read to me all the time when I was younger.

  1. This might be my favorite drawing/illustration/whatever I've seen from you! Which leads me to this: while writing this comment, I feel there should be a personalized Emily-noun for these, such and Emustrations.

But maybe not, because I've recently woken up and quit coffee.

  2. i think you should adapt your seven line poem, and then your and my seven line poem adaptation could go on a date.

  3. Darcie- you quit coffee? Gosh, that's rough. Well, I'm glad you like my drawing, I just did another one of this old lady I saw at a nursing home (visiting) that I think you might like. I don't want to give anything away but there's a lizard in it. You should watch out for it.

Mattson- I was thinking of adapting this poem- all I would need is a girl, curl her hair in the front, film her smiling, and then film her going all Orson Welles on a room. Done. Then her and Solomon Grundy could date. I think they might actually get along quite well.
