I don't know where I get these titles... but don't you just want to squeeze the hell out of this?

Like A Fat Kid Loves Cake
It's been a while since I've posted but not because of lack of activity, more because of lack of time and energy. So in order to get myself back on track I'm hoping to post a picture a day (it keeps the doctor away!). I obsessively doodle anyways, and figured why not share my sketchies with the world! I'd be happy to take requests, too, if you have a picture, word or phrase you'd like to see up on the blog! Leave a comment or shoot me a mention on twitter @emilytomasik .
This is the first of my picture a day posts, I titled it Like A Fat Kid Loves Cake. It's colored in photoshop and hand drawn by my hands. Give me feedback!

Some Kickstarter Rewards

So I've been working hard on the photo albums I promised to some of my kickstarter backers. From concept to page, it's taken a while to get these babies finished! But I'm pretty proud of how they came out.
Unfortunately, I was in a rush to send them out and didn't get too many great photos. But I'm posting what I have. Hope you like 'em!

Puppet Fail
So, I was all planned and pumped on posting today pictures of my new puppet that I've been working on for weeks now. It is the actual working puppet of the model from my Pop Quiz post. Unfortunately, the puppet cracked in two at the waist as I was trying to get it to stand. Looks like the
Now I'm back to square one, and am a little unsure of how to go about making a workable puppet cheaply. I can't seem to find any non drying lightweight clay, and can't think of any other material that would be better for the head and hands. If anyone has suggestions, PLEASE let me know!

Back from Adventure
Machu Picchu. So I'm back from my trip to Peru to hike the Inca Trail! I know I've said it a million and five times, but again, THANK YOU to everyone who supported the trip. It was an absolutely amazing experience.
Now I'm back in this muggy heat and I've been starting to sort through the thousands of pictures that I have.
I hope to be putting a stop motion animated video together with Michael Oshins which will give you a tour and a taste of our experience in fast forward mode. I think the video is going to be really great, so keep looking out for it!
In the meantime, I'm posting just a few of the pictures here because a lot of people have been asking to see them. Enjoy, and keep watching out for more!

Pop Quiz
I'm currently making models for some characters in a promo video for a new children's book coming out titled, Cows Can't Quack, by Dave Reisman. I need everyone's opinion on who they think this man is- the only clue I'm giving out is that he's famous! I'm trying to make a puppet that can be instantly recognized as the celebrity it's modeled after- so your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Fatal Politeness
This is a really stupid comic that I drew after having a back and forth "hi how are you" match with an acquaintance who I unfortunately caught glimpse of too soon to ignore until the "meeting point". Therefore, we exchanged too many generic greetings just for the sake of acknowledging each other's presence. But I digress. Anyways, enjoy.

There Was a Little Girl...
This is an illustration I did a few years ago based off the poem There Was a Little Girl. I used pen and watercolor pencils. It goes:
There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good
She was very, very good
And when she was bad
She was horrid.
I'm not sure what the message behind the poem is, but it was read to me all the time when I was younger.

Illustrator Work!
Thanks to everyone who checked out my last hand drawn animation! You can see it scored at:I'm currently working on some other hand drawn animations for Julie Amato's website and for Squeaky Wheel Media Resource Center in Buffalo, NY. In the meantime, I made up this Illustrator file for Julie- just as something else to fancy up her website. Let me know what you think! Also feel free to contact me at etproductions.film@gmail.com if you're interested in some cartoons or pictures for your website or blog! Thanks!
PS- not sure why it's cutting the right hand side off a little. The original has even space on both sides.

Writer's Block
Here's the last animation I did for a classmate's title sequence, all hand drawn. I unfortunately don't have music or a score to go with it yet, but let me know what you think!

Shark Biting: Bigger and Better
So I took into account all your comments and substituted the blue screen for that graphic I was talking about (thanks to Michael Oshins http://www.michael-oshins.blogspot.com/). So here's what I got for the final clip, I think it's kind of fun:

Time- Eating Shark
I haven't been posting for a little while now because as the end of my school year approaches, the work load (and stress level) increases. One of the last experiments I did was a test in live action stop motion. This is a clip from one of the tests, a static "chase scene" was the idea. I'm hoping to put a cartoony illustrator graphic of a wiggling ocean in the background, but haven't tried it out yet. Let me know what you think!

Short Clip!
I haven't uploaded the final 3 shots, but I've successfully (I think) finished shooting all the claymation for my little short, Pizza! and am getting ready to do some sound work and bring this guy to life! I'm posting a short clip- one of my first experiments in racking focus. Let me know what you think!

Comic Relief

Oh, and for the record, I do know that there are words that rhyme with armadillo, it just seemed like such a sad low stab at himself- I couldn't help but write it.
